What is familial DNA and how does it relate to an investigation? Well, DNA is shared in families and when a match is not immediately found in CODIS by law enforcement, there are other resources to utilize to help locate the perpetrator (bad guy or girl). This is done through the use of DNA of ancestors or family members, thus the name "familial" DNA.

Why do Strategic's private investigators know about this? Because we are former police officers and we are very familiar with DNA, having worked on adoption cases as well as in our own family.

We provide support to law enforcement and other agencies to help with DNA profiles and databases such as Gedmatch, Genesis, FamilySearch, MyHeritage, 23andMe, and Ancestry, to name a few.
